Preventative dentistry is beneficial to individuals of all ages as it can help avoid or lessen the effects of:
Preventative practices help maintain healthy teeth and include daily brushing and flossing, routine dental cleanings and eating a balanced diet.
Good oral health benefits your overall health as a whole and can also save you money in the long run, reducing the need for costly treatments caused by poor oral hygiene.
Reconstructive dentistry involves the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of conditions affecting the teeth, gums and maxillofacial (jaw and face) portion of the body. The goal is to fix structural problems, resulting in a full set of functioning teeth. Common procedures include fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, full and partial dentures and dental implants.
Dental implants are the best long-term, cost-effective solution for individuals missing teeth due to injury, decay or infection or for those who were simply born without a tooth.
Implant care is the specific care of dental implants. While dental implants may need periodic adjustments, they can last a lifetime when cared for properly. Although implants cannot get cavities, they are subject to the same wear-and-tear as your natural teeth and require brushing, flossing and regular dental cleanings and check-ups.
While all dentists have your smile’s aesthetics in mind as they provide preventative and restorative care to your teeth, the primary focus of cosmetic care is the general appearance of an individual’s smile. All treatments that involve aesthetic enhancements are considered cosmetic and can include teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, crowns and bridgework, composite bonding, teeth straightening and aligners.
